Recap 01/2025

Consistency was always the goal, but life had other plans. Originally, I wanted this newsletter to go out every quarter, but after we had a baby, that extra time to put this together vanished quickly. After two years, I am hoping to get back on schedule.

Between my last newsletter and now, yes, we had our daughter Rosemary (she's pure joy!). I moved from my home office (now Rosemary's bedroom) to a wonderful studio office just down the street. I continued working with wonderful clients and doing some exciting work.

Thank you to everyone who signed up and contacted me about the newsletter, especially those who kept asking when the next one was coming. (It's here!)

The Practice Way

The Practice Way is a digital-first life and career coaching brand grounded in thoughtful, intentional growth. I created a visual identity system inspired by a metaphorical path—calm, clear, and welcoming—with a brand built to reflect long-term transformation.

The deliverables included a responsive logo suite, a calming natural colour palette, presentation templates, and visual guidelines—all designed to bring clarity and consistency to every platform the brand touches. You can follow along with their journey on Instagram for more.

Better Connected Psychotherapy

This project involved a complete brand identity and website designed to support a new therapy practice. The focus was on building something warm, professional, and clear, aligning the visual tone with therapeutic goals.

Each service offered is clearly explained through dedicated pages, making it easy for visitors to explore and take action. Everything from the custom logo to the layout and structure is designed to build trust, support growth, and feel approachable. You can check out the website to see the brand in action.

It's Not A Straight Line Podcast

The brand refresh for It's Not A Straight Line was completed in 2023, but over the past 13 episodes, I've continued to support the podcast with branded social templates and episode graphics, building visual consistency and helping the show expand across platforms with clarity and confidence.

I created a podcast identity for this brand refresh that reflects the nonlinear nature of real life. A bold squiggly line became the core symbol, paired with a condensed type treatment and high-contrast palette for standout legibility.

A Quote to Share:
While several great shows are filling my Watch Next queue, I started getting into The Bear, a show described to me as the raw expression of the creative process.

"You're going to have to care about everything, more than anything"

The above quote from S2 E2 @ 13:10, in which they discuss what it takes for their restaurant to get a Michelin star, speaks to me as a designer/business owner about the efforts needed to succeed in any creative endeavour.

Looking Ahead

April marks five years since I took the leap into working as a solo designer. It's been a journey filled with hard work, collaboration, and the opportunity to create meaningful design work with many wonderful clients. I am truly thankful for the support and trust I have received throughout this journey.

Looking ahead, I'm excited to share more of what I've been working on and to get a head start on next quarter's update. I'll also be posting more work samples and deeper dives into these projects on Instagram—feel free to give me a follow.

Closing Note

Thanks for taking the time to read this update — I'm always grateful for the opportunity to share a bit of what I've been working on. If you know someone who might need help with branding, websites, or design support, feel free to pass my name along. Most of my work comes through referrals, and I truly appreciate when someone takes a moment to make a connection.

Until next time,
